Beyond Settlement: Exploring the Unique Needs of Youth and Community Mental Health Resources

January 23 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join the Tri-Cities Local Immigration Partnership for a dynamic community-centered forum exploring youth and mental health services available to newcomers. The morning will start with a panel where community stakeholders will share stories, opportunities, and challenges of newcomer youth and discuss the services and resources available to support them. We will then delve into the diverse mental health needs of newcomers from various backgrounds, highlighting age-appropriate and culturally responsive resources and tailored support services for trauma and torture recovery. We will close the event with an engaging networking session for participants to foster connections and explore collaboration opportunities.

This event will consist of three sessions:

Session 1: Exploring the Unique Needs of Youth

  • Gain insights from community stakeholders who will share the opportunities, challenges, and services available to support newcomer youth.

Session 2: Community Mental Health Resources

  • Explore the diverse mental health needs of newcomers, with a focus on culturally responsive, age-appropriate resources and tailored support for trauma and torture recovery.

Session3: Networking

  • Connect with other service providers to share best practices and build collaborative connections within the community.
