Surrey LIP: Welcoming Week 2022
September 9, 2022
A warm welcome to newcomers in Surrey, BC
Surrey Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) acknowledges that immigrants and refugees are a vital part of our community — bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas, starting businesses, and contributing to the vibrant diversity that we all value. We are privileged to see an influx of newcomers who are choosing to bring their skills, experience and insights to our communities.
Welcoming Week (September 9–18, 2022) is a great way to show newcomers that they are appreciated and that we look forward to including and celebrating the diversity and resiliency they bring into all aspects of life in their new home. This week, we honour the spirit of unity that brings together neighbours across Surrey, BC. By working together, we can achieve greater prosperity and make our community the kind of place where diverse people from around the world feel valued and want to put down roots.
Regardless of where we are born or what we look like, we are here, united in our efforts to build a stronger Surrey. By recognizing the contributions that we all make to create a vibrant culture and growing economy, we make our community more prosperous and more inclusive to all who call it home. Let us come together to build our community where every resident can contribute at their best and reaffirm that Surrey is a welcoming community.
