Together Against Hate Forum: Eliminating Racism for a Better Future

DIVERSEcity has been proud to present the Together Against Hate project, a collection of workshops and community dialogues designed to foster authentic and courageous conversations about racism and hate.

Our project concludes with a free Together Against Hate Community Forum in recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The theme, “Eliminating Racism for a Better Future,” calls on the community, including changemakers, community leaders, youth, families, educators, employers and other community members to come together in dialogue and action.

Rising rates of hate and discrimination — whether online or in schools, workplaces and public spaces — highlight the urgent need for community-driven solutions to address these systemic challenges, for everyone in our communities, particularly youth who face growing racial discrimination that impacts their wellbeing, sense of belonging and future opportunities. Social media and online hate continue to have devastating effects, making it more important than ever to stand together against racism for a better future.

What can we do to eliminate racism for the next generation? Join us for a day of guided discussions, group activities and personal reflection!

At this free community forum, you will:

• Hear from diverse speakers and champions, sharing lived experiences
• Engage in thoughtful discussions to build shared understanding and empathy
• Join interactive group activities that bring concepts to life
• Learn strategies for fostering dialogue and building bridges
• Have time to collaborate on actionable solutions to take back to your schools and communities

Event Program

11–11:30 am: Opening Remarks & Introduction

11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Panel Discussion moderated by Daljit Gill-Badesha with panellists:

12:30 –1:20 pm: Lunch

1:30 – 3 pm: Interactive Group Activity led by Ingrid Broussillon of Griottes Polyglottes

3–3:30 pm: Mental Health Check-In & Reflection Session

3:30–4 pm: Closing Remarks & Call to Action
