The Surrey Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) is seeking committed, enthusiastic members to serve on our youth sector roundtable. 

The Surrey Youth Newcomer Council (SYNC) is a community of Surrey youth who are passionate about making the City of Surrey a better place for newcomer youth. The Surrey Youth Newcomer Council will support opportunities for youth to convene, connect across cultures, share their experiences and perspectives, and build leadership skills.

  • Meet youth across Surrey, BC, and regionally who share your interests, experiences, and learn from others  
  • Be a part of developing and engaging in cool projects and initiatives that make a difference  
  • Gain a better understanding of local issues and governance structures 

Eligibility 

  • Youth between the ages of 14–28 
  • Resident of Surrey, BC  
  • Can attend council meetings (1 per month) 
  • Eager to help other newcomer youth in Surrey 
  • Can commit to monthly meetings and working group engagements

Meetings will be held using a blended model of virtual and in-person. Members will be appointed for a period of one year.
