Immigrant Women Advisory Table

Engaging the voices of immigrant women.

To support the Surrey LIP’s work, this volunteer roundtable is a space to bring the lived experiences and voices of immigrant women in Surrey forward.

The Immigrant Women Advisory Table (IWAT)  is a volunteer roundtable for immigrant women from diverse backgrounds. It’s a space to engage in the community and advise the Surrey LIP council on ways newcomer women can better navigate their post-arrival journey in the community and guide the council on supports and opportunities needed in Surrey to foster social and economic integration.

As an IWAT member, you will:

  • Guide the council on supports and services for immigrant women in Surrey
  • Bring your lived experiences and perspectives to build a welcoming and inclusive community
  • Serve as a community champion for immigrant women

Want to join? Eligibility requirements include:

  • Residents of Surrey
  • Newcomer immigrants who identify as women
  • Open to learning and collaborating
  • Can commit to monthly meetings and working group engagements
