Surrey LIP News: The True Colours of Surrey Project Launched

True Colours of Surrey Project is an anti-discrimination initiative funded by the Province of British Columbia to better understand racial discrimination issues in Surrey, models to support Surrey-based collaborations and initiatives to address the issues, and develop a public awareness campaign highlighting positive contribution of diverse groups in Surrey.  

  • A total of $20,000 was allocated to the City of Surrey to implement the project.
  • Project Timelines: February – December 2016
  • A Project Advisory Group will be formed to provide input to the project development, implementation and evaluation
  • The Project Advisory Group is a part of the Surrey LIP Working Group infrastructure aimed to implement the 2016-2019 Surrey Immigrant Integration Strategy
  • The project is addressing the following objective of the Strategy Direction  2: Engaged Community "Increase awareness of and initiate the process of addressing discrimination issues in Surrey."
