New Newcomer Seniors Wellness Project coming to Options
Friday, May 4, 2018

Options Immigrant Services has received a two-year Choose To Move Grant from UWLM to deliver a Newcomer Seniors Wellness Project aimed at breaking barriers that lead to physical inactivity and sedentary lifestyle amongst vulnerable and isolated newcomer seniors in the Chinese-, Korean- and Punjabi-speaking communities.

In partnership with UBC Active Aging Research Team at the Centre for Hip, Health and Mobility, Options volunteer coaches with relevant first languages will receive training to assist and support three cohorts of newcomer seniors to become more engaged with physical and wellness activities.
