DIVERSEcity's Food Security Program Garden
Monday, June 29, 2015

Did you know that each year Nature's Path, a company started in BC, gives away a $15,000 grant to two organizations in the US and one in Canada to support a community garden? This year, DIVERSEcity has submitted an entry into this contest but they need your support in order to become a finalist!! How can you help?

Vote!

We encourage you to VOTE for DIVERSEcity's Food Security Program Gardens to help it further support Surrey's community by helping establish our rooftop garden program. The voting closes on July 6 2015.

This garden and program will target low income community residents-with a particular focus on vulnerable refugees and immigrants-who live in smaller spaces and do not have access to land or traditional community garden programs which often have long waiting lists.

HOW TO VOTE:

  • Once you get to this page just scroll down to the bottom and in the SEARCH section type "DIVERSEcity". Information about DIVERSEcity garden and program will then appear.
  • Just click on the green VOTE button and follow the prompts.
  • Three Canadian gardens will make it to the semi-finals where one may win the $15,000. Voting has opened up as of noon today. Let's do our best to win this money for this very important program!
