Career Paths - Health Care Assistant
Friday, October 12, 2018

The Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants Health program is delighted to announce an upcoming pilot program for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who are looking to pursue BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker (BCCAHW) registration and employment as they continue on their pathway to nursing. We are actively recruiting new IEN clients with a goal occupation of RN/LPN/RPN to join this pilot starting October/November 2018.

Program participants will be funded to take part in online guided study, in-person workshops and a job shadow opportunity to help them prepare for the knowledge and skill assessments (HCA NCAS). Upon registration, participants will receive job search coaching and introductions to employers to gain Care Aide employment by March 2019. In-person workshops will take place in the Lower Mainland, Kelowna and on Vancouver Island.

If you are supporting experienced skilled international nurses who are permanent residents in BC, please refer them to douglascollege.ca/careerpathsHCA for full program details and eligibility criteria. Interested applicants should complete the online application form.
