Community Involvement:

I volunteered with Library Champion Project – NewToBC initiative to help newcomers to understand resources available for them and help them to better understand the benefits from these resources. We visited different places to raise awareness with  newcomer residents.

Interest in the Advisory:

I like to meet new people and especially newcomers. I believe that my diverse background and experience can definitely add value for the newcomers who are not that aware about different employment and settlement agencies which can help them to settle and integrate in Canada.

Immigrant challenges:

One of the biggest challenges for immigrants in Canada is finding job in their fields. In Canada if the immigrant does not have Canadian degree or experience, then it would be difficult to get a job in their fields.

Vision for Surrey:

My vision of the welcoming and inclusive Surrey is where newly-arrived immigrants feel welcomed and where they feel that they are part of the community and society.
